What do we recycle at River Bend Nature Center?

Recycling just got a whole lot easier at RBNC! We have a new recycle bin located in the parking lot. What can be recycled? All of these items:

Newspaper, Magazines, Phone Books

Glass  (all colors are accepted)

Plastics #1-#7 (no plastic bags or Styrofoam, you can recycle plastic bags at Wal Mart)

Aluminum (no aerosol cans or aluminum foil)

Tin, and Steel (no paint cans)

Cardboard

All of the items listed above can be placed in this bin! Recyclable materials do not need to be sorted, just placed in the container.This bin was supplied by IESI.

Compost- River Bend has a large green dumpster located in the parking lot for public use. You can dispose of all paper products including but not limited to: cereal boxes, food packaging, paper towels, paper plates, junk mail, old phone books, newspapers, magazines, notebook paper, office paper, yard waste, food scraps, or anything organic can be placed in this bin. No meat or dairy  please! To get your own green bin visit this website Wichita Falls Sanitation Department.

Misc. – we take old cell phones and cell phone accessories, gaming systems, mp3 players, and hand help gaming devices.

Ink Cartridges- can be dropped off in the Bryant Edwards Learning Center.

What does River Bend reuse?

Old crayons, crayon pieces and stubs

Artist paints

Cloth scraps

Yarn, thread, etc.

Poster board

Clean construction paper

Peg board
